Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity Emergency Department at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of ER or ICU experience and Cerner or Epic proficiency.
Responsibilities
Work in a high-acuity Level II Trauma Center Emergency DepartmentED has 71 beds and serves a diverse population including multi-system trauma, STEMI, stroke, CHF, COPD, GI, GU, OB / GYN, Pediatrics, and Psychiatric patientsTypical patient ratios are 1 : 4 in the ER, 1 : 5 for med-surg holds, and 1 : 3 for ICU holdsNo floating requiredUses Cerner EMR systemShifts available : 12-hour days from 7 : 00 AM, as well as other day and night variationsWeekend rotation includes every other weekend or four weekend days per month for block schedulesNo on-call responsibilitiesSolid color scrubs are requiredProvide critical care nursing in a high-volume, high-acuity trauma settingSupport includes CNA, receptionist / HUC, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV / VAT team, and hospitalistsOrientation includes 24 hours classroom and 24 hours unit time for new or returning travelers (absent >1 year)
First-time travelers considered if all experience and EMR requirements are metHoliday coverage required per hospital policy; must be available for at least one major and one minor holidayParking is provided in a garageRequirements
Active AL or compact RN licenseCurrent BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and nationally recognized Secure / CPI certificationMinimum of 2 years recent ER or ICU experience, with at least 1 year in a Level II Trauma or higher EDExperience with Cerner or Epic EMRCompetency in trach and vent care, ICU drips, chest tubes, art lines, CVLs, foley, orthopedics, bipap / high flow, continuous bladder irrigation, PICC, midlines, and portsNot eligible for candidates living within 60 miles of the facilityPerm staff must wait at least 6 months before returning as travelersBenefits
