Job Title : Safety Coordinator Assistant (3rd Party Logistics)
Hours of Work : 2nd Shift (4pm-12 : 30am) Flexible for OT or change in work schedule

Position Summary
The Safety Coordinator – Assistant supports the Safety Department in maintaining compliance with all occupational health and safety regulations and ensuring a safe working environment throughout the manufacturing facility. This position assists with inspections, documentation, and reporting related to safety incidents, hazards, and compliance requirements within the hemp manufacturing industry.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and eager to learn more about safety compliance and manufacturing operations. This entry-level safety role offers hands-on exposure to environmental, health, and safety standards in a dynamic production setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular walkthroughs of the facility to identify and report potential hazards, unsafe conditions, or non-compliance issues.
- Assist with accident, incident, and near-miss investigations by collecting statements, photos, and relevant documentation.
- Maintain and organize Safety Data Sheets (SDS) , inspection logs, safety meeting notes, and compliance records.
- Support the Safety Coordinator in implementing company safety programs and monitoring adherence across all departments.
- Ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available, properly maintained, and used correctly by employees.
- Monitor and report unsafe behaviors, equipment malfunctions, or environmental hazards to supervisors for corrective action.
- Participate in emergency response drills , evacuation procedures, and safety inspections as assigned.
- Stay informed on OSHA, Cal / OSHA, and industry-specific safety standards and updates.
- Collaborate with HR, Production, Maintenance, and Quality departments to maintain a consistent culture of safety, accountability, and compliance.
Qualifications
Education : High School Diploma or GED required.Experience : 1–3 years of experience in a safety, compliance, or manufacturing-related role (hemp, cannabis, or food manufacturing preferred).Knowledge : Basic understanding of OSHA, EPA, and Cal / OSHA regulations.Certifications (Preferred) : OSHA 10 or OSHA 30, First Aid / CPR.Language : Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.Skills & Competencies
Strong attention to detail and follow-through.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively across departments and staff levels.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).Highly organized, dependable , and proactive in identifying safety concerns.Demonstrates sound judgment and maintains confidentiality with safety and compliance matters.Work Environment
An on-site role in a manufacturing and processing facility may involve exposure to dust, chemicals, noise, and heavy equipment.Must be able to stand, walk, and inspect facilities for extended periods.
