We are recruiting on behalf of a boutique assisted living and adult day community located in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Their team takes pride in providing compassionate, hands-on support that promotes wellness and dignity across Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Adult Day programs.

Day-to-Day :

As Director of Nursing , you will lead the Wellness Department and oversee a dedicated team of caregivers, med techs, and CNAs who support residents in various stages of independence and care needs. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a balance of clinical expertise, team mentorship, and operational oversight. You’ll work closely with residents, families, and outside healthcare providers to maintain a consistent standard of quality care. The position is ideal for a working nurse leader who enjoys staying closely connected to residents while guiding a small but high-performing care team.

Responsibilities :

• Lead and support approximately 20 wellness staff across Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Adult Day programs.
• Maintain high standards of resident care and compliance through supervision, coaching, and consistent communication.
• Provide direct clinical support as needed during busy or high-acuity periods.
• Oversee EMR documentation and ensure timely, accurate entries for all care-related activities.
• Manage department schedules, staffing levels, and shift coverage to support operational needs.
• Conduct assessments for new or returning residents, occasionally visiting hospitals, rehab centers, or private homes.
• Serve as primary contact for physicians, therapists, and other care partners.
• Participate in care planning meetings and family discussions as needed.
• Support onboarding, training, and professional growth of wellness team members.
• Foster a culture of empathy, professionalism, and accountability in alignment with the organization's mission.
