NOW HIRING – QA TECHNICIAN (2nd SHIFT)

Location : Streamwood, IL

Shift : 2 : 45 PM – 1 : 00 AM

Pay : $16.00 per hour

Schedule : Full-time | Overtime Available

Must Pass E-Verify

Position Summary

We are seeking detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technicians to join our team on 2nd shift. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role that requires strong math, accuracy, and technical skills. The QA Technician ensures all raw materials and finished products meet Fresh Express quality and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Quality & Production Support

Inspect all inbound raw materials for compliance to quality standards

Perform pre-op inspections and calibration of equipment / instruments

Conduct sanitation swabs to verify cleanliness and effectiveness

Perform routine sampling and testing of products throughout production

Identify, document, and communicate any out-of-spec product results

Verify adjustments and re-check product quality after corrections

Test raw materials and document variances or quality concerns

Conduct truck inspections for food safety compliance

Verify product traceability through product code checks

Testing & Evaluation

Execute flume water testing : total / free chlorine, calcium, Tsunami levels

Perform pH testing & water temperature monitoring

Conduct ambient temperature checks in processing areas

Verify metal detector functionality

Complete oxygen testing, blend ratio checks & cut quality evaluations

Monitor package weights, seal integrity (leaker test), and finished product temperatures

Perform allergen and code date verification

Collect CQI and shelf-life samples

Ensure barcode readability and equipment calibration

Documentation

Maintain accurate written and electronic inspection records

Enter data into computer systems as required

Prepare reports and communicate findings to production, QA, and management teams

Other Responsibilities

Enforce GMP rules and food safety standards

Rotate between production floor support and raw material inspections

Perform additional duties as assigned

Maintain regular and reliable attendance

Requirements

Ability to work in a fast-paced, cold food-production environment

Strong attention to detail, math skills, and accuracy

Comfortable performing repetitive testing and documentation

Must be reliable with excellent attendance

Ability to stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods
