Join Our Team as a Davenport Machine Setup Specialist

Are you an experienced machine operator ready to make a significant impact? At our corporate location, we're searching for a talented individual to operate our Davenport machines and ensure top-quality manufacturing. You'll be part of a dedicated team, reporting directly to the Plant Supervisor, where your skills in troubleshooting and manual machining will be highly valued.

What's Involved :

  • Monitoring and managing production on designated Davenport machines.
  • Reading and interpreting shop drawings with precision.
  • Utilizing a range of precision measuring instruments effectively.
  • Performing comprehensive record-keeping tasks, from SPC charting to lot splits.
  • Moving materials efficiently to subsequent operations and upholding quality standards.
  • Daily maintenance, including lubrication, cleaning, and chip removal of machines.
  • Selecting the right materials and tools for optimal machine performance.
  • Collaborating with supervisors, engineers, and other departments for problem-solving.
  • Maintaining excellent housekeeping in your work area.
  • Taking on additional duties as directed by your supervisor.
  • Ensuring other machines run smoothly when needed.

We're looking for someone who can adapt to changes, is punctual, and reliable. You should also be willing to innovate, learn quickly, and have a professional demeanor. Your ability to meet productivity and safety standards is essential, and we value a proactive approach to work.

Key Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent; 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong mathematical skills including basic shop mathematics.
  • Sound reasoning and problem-solving abilities in various situations.
  • Basic computer literacy and a willingness to learn specific systems.
  • Physical capability to lift / move up to 40 pounds and work in a factory environment.
  • Familiarity with optical comparators, manual lathes, screw machines, and quality control software preferred.
