As the team continues to grow, they are looking to bring on a Fraud Specialist to support preventing fraudulent transactions across all channels. You will oversee fraud cases, trends, and activity across the credit union. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys back-end research and understanding emerging trends. You will also play a part in educating the team and maintaining compliance knowledge.

Requirements
1-3 years of related experience (fraud investigation, banking operations, or similar).Strong understanding of fraud investigation procedures, check clearing, and return-item regulations.Familiarity with financial systems, claims portals (e.g., FIS), and AML software tools.Tact, discretion, and diplomacy in handling sensitive cases.Knowledge of BSA, AML, and Reg E regulations; commitment to maintaining required certifications and annual compliance training.Responsibilities
Deliver outstanding service to internal and external members in line with BrightStar's Service Standards.Investigate and process fraudulent transactions across multiple channels (checks, ACH, wires, bill pay, credit cards, account takeovers, shared services, etc.).Collect information and documentation from members to verify fraudulent activity, identify suspects, and prevent recurrence.Analyze fraud trends, track losses, and prepare reports on fraudulent activity.Collaborate with the BSA (Bank Secrecy Act) Department to document cases and reports in the Credit Union's AML system.Prepare and submit insurance claims for fraud losses; document non-insurable losses and initiate charge-offs as necessary.Ensure all fraud cases meet compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., Reg E timelines, FIS case submission).Provide guidance and fraud awareness training to credit union employees on detection and prevention.Support business services areas by understanding and assisting with business deposit and lending products.Maintain ongoing knowledge and training in BSA, AML, and fraud-related compliance.
