Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced PCU RN with a NM or compact RN license and recent telemetry / progressive care experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is in a hospital-based Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with telemetry monitoring
  • Unit has 18 or more beds and serves a progressive care patient population
  • 12-hour day shifts, three days per week
  • Floating between departments or locations within 20 miles is required
  • Epic EMR is used; experience preferred
  • Responsibilities include direct patient care, nursing assessment, medication administration, care planning, and documentation
  • Expected to coordinate care with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Supervises LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
  • No local candidates accepted; must live more than 50 miles from the facility
  • Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff must wait one year before being considered as travelers
  • Holiday coverage may be required based on unit needs
  • Dress code and scrub requirements will be provided upon assignment

  • Active NM RN license or compact state RN license required
  • Minimum of two years current experience in an 18+ bed telemetry / progressive care unit required
  • Successful completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment required
  • BLS and ACLS certification required through AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
  • Must pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) assessment prior to or during the first week of assignment; only one retake allowed
  • NIHSS certification preferred
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
