Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Header Operator to join our precision manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up and operating multi-die progressive header machines used to produce high-strength fasteners and components to exact specifications. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a background in operating and maintaining multi-die header equipment in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate 4- or 5-die progressive header machines to manufacture precision parts according to engineering drawings and production requirements.
Read and interpret blueprints, manufacturing work orders, and process specifications to determine required tools, materials, and machine settings.
Install, align, and adjust tooling, dies, and attachments to ensure accurate and consistent part production.
Inspect parts during production using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and comparators.
Monitor machine operation, make necessary adjustments, and perform minor tooling rework or preventive maintenance as needed.
Maintain accurate production and quality records; enter data into tracking systems as required.
Train and assist junior operators or trainees on proper setup, operation, and safety procedures.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to productivity, quality, and equipment performance.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
4+ years of experience operating multi-die progressive headers in a precision manufacturing or aerospace environment preferred.
Strong knowledge of tooling setup, machine adjustments, and metal forming principles.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, process sketches, and part specifications.
Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments and statistical process control (SPC) methods.
Strong attention to detail, quality standards, and safety procedures.
Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical troubleshooting ability.
Willingness to work collaboratively and assist in training others.
Working Conditions
All Shifts open!
Frequent standing and manual handling of materials.
Work performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, lubricants, and metal particulates.
Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to all safety policies.
Compensation
Competitive hourly rate ranging from $35.00 to $60.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
