About The Position

Position Summary :

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals (radioactive drugs) to patients for diagnostic imaging or therapeutic procedures. They operate specialized imaging equipment to evaluate organ and tissue function, collaborating closely with physicians to provide essential diagnostic data. The technologist ensures radiation safety, maintains imaging equipment, educates patients on procedures, and accurately documents all processes.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, calculate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic or therapeutic use

Operate nuclear medicine equipment to capture high-quality images of organ and tissue function

Explain imaging procedures and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the process

Apply ALARA principles and radiation safety standards to minimize exposure for patients and staff

Perform quality control checks and routine maintenance on all nuclear medicine equipment

Document patient information, imaging data, and procedural notes accurately in the EMR system

Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to interpret imaging results and support patient care plans

Qualifications

Experience : Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience (required)

Specialty : Cardiology / Nuclear Cardio imaging experience (required)

Certifications : NMTCB (required)

BLS (AHA, preferred)

Technical Skills : Familiarity with nuclear imaging systems and electronic medical record systems (e.g., Cerner, 4DM, Synapse or equivalent)

Education : Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
