Manufacturing Manager
The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the production processes in a manufacturing facility. This role ensures that products are produced efficiently, on time, and within budget while meeting quality standards. The Manufacturing Manager also focuses on optimizing processes, managing staff, and maintaining safety standards.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
Minimum Requirements :
Education : Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field.
Certifications : Lean Manufacturing Certification (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt). Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) by APICS. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. OSHA Safety Certification.
Skills / Experience :
Technical Skills : Proficiency in manufacturing software (e.g., ERP systems like SAP, Oracle). Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and practices. Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies. Familiarity with CAD / CAM software.
Analytical Skills : Ability to analyze and interpret production data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Proficiency in statistical analysis and problem-solving techniques. Strong understanding of process optimization and efficiency improvement.
Leadership and Management Skills : Proven ability to lead and motivate a team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Conflict resolution and team-building abilities. Strong organizational and time management skills.
Problem-Solving Skills : Ability to troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions. Strong decision-making capabilities. Innovative thinking to improve production processes.

Production Experience : Extensive experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Proven track record of managing production operations and meeting production targets. Experience with implementing and managing lean manufacturing initiatives.
Management Experience : Significant experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a manufacturing setting. Experience leading and developing a diverse team of production workers. Proven ability to manage and optimize resources effectively.
Process Improvement Experience : Demonstrated experience in process improvement and optimization. Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies. Track record of implementing successful process improvement initiatives.
Quality Assurance Experience : Experience in developing and maintaining quality control systems. Proven ability to manage quality assurance programs and ensure compliance with standards. Experience with conducting quality audits and addressing quality issues.
Technical Experience : Experience with manufacturing technologies and equipment. Familiarity with automation and digitalization in manufacturing processes. Experience in integrating new technologies into production processes.
Safety and Compliance Experience : Proven track record of maintaining safety standards and compliance in a manufacturing environment. Experience with conducting safety audits and implementing safety programs. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
Collaboration and Cross-Functional Experience : Experience working with cross-functional teams to achieve production goals. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with other departments, such as engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain. Experience in managing supplier relationships and coordinating with external partners.
Physical Demands :
Standing and Walking : Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the manufacturing facility. Frequent movement within the production area to supervise and assist team members.
Lifting and Carrying : Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 35 pounds. Occasional lifting of heavier items with the assistance of equipment or team members.
Bending, Stooping, and Kneeling : Regular bending, stooping, and kneeling to inspect machinery, perform maintenance tasks, and handle materials. Flexibility to work in low positions and confined spaces as needed.
Reaching and Handling : Frequent reaching overhead and below shoulder level to access materials and operate machinery. Manual dexterity to handle small parts and tools accurately.
Pushing and Pulling : Ability to push and pull carts, equipment, and materials as needed within the production area.
Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) : Regular use of PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, ear protection, and safety shoes. Compliance with all safety protocols and regulations regarding PPE usage.
Work Environment : Exposure to a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and potential hazards. Tolerance for working in conditions that may include dust, fumes, and strong odors.
Physical Stamina : Endurance to work extended hours, including overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays as production demands. Ability to remain alert and focused during long shifts and high-pressure situations.
