About the Role : Contract Instructor MQ-4 Mission Payload Operator (MPO)
As a Contract Instructor MPO, you will leverage your operational experience and instructional talent to train, evaluate, and inspire MQ-4 Mission Payload Operators. This on-call position offers flexibility and the chance to work with some of the most accomplished professionals in the field. You will play an essential part in ensuring our operators meet and exceed the demanding standards required for mission success.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive instruction in MQ-4 mission payload operations using cutting-edge training devices and simulation technologies.
Administer and evaluate open-book and closed-book MQ-4 NATOPS exams, as well as simulator procedural evaluations in accordance with the Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS) Fleet NATOPS department standards.
Support training and evaluation efforts for new and experienced MPOs, fostering a culture of professionalism, operational excellence, and safety.
Stay current with evolving mission requirements, aircraft systems, and both normal and emergency crew procedures.
Collaborate with the FRS and other training staff to continually improve curriculum and instructional techniques.
Maintain accurate training records and provide constructive feedback to trainees and program leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
Current or prior MQ-4 Mission Payload Operator with Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) qualification or prior simulator MPO instructor status within the preceding five (5) years.
At least one fleet tour as an MQ-4 MPO and at least one tour as an FRS Instructor MPO.
Minimum security clearance level of Secret.
Successful completion of MQ-4 Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) open-book and closed-book exams and simulator procedural evaluation.
Annual renewal and maintenance of qualifications with the FRS, meeting or exceeding minimum evaluation scores as established by the FRS Fleet NATOPS department.
Demonstrated understanding of MQ-4 mission objectives, aircraft operating systems, and standard / emergency crew procedures.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and mentorship skills.
Note : Deviations from listed qualifications may be considered on a case-by-case basis by the VP-30 Commanding Officer.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience as a simulator instructor with advanced knowledge of MQ-4 systems and procedures within the last five years.
Proven track record of instructional excellence and a passion for developing talent.
Familiarity with modern training techniques and technologies.
Certifications and Testing Requirements
Must successfully complete all required NATOPS open-book and closed-book exams and simulator procedural evaluations, as administered by the FRS Fleet NATOPS department.
Ongoing annual qualification renewal and maintenance as set by the FRS.
Essential Knowledge and Skills
Exceptional knowledge of MQ-4 aircraft operations, mission systems, and procedures for both normal and emergency scenarios.
Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable instructions for trainees of varying experience levels.
Commitment to maintaining operational standards and fostering a culture of safety and compliance.
