A leading nonprofit organization in New York City is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to serve as Vice President at one of their women's shelters in Brooklyn . This site serves approximately 200 single adult women , many with mental health or substance use challenges, and requires a strong, hands-on leader who can balance compassion with structure.
About the Opportunity :
- Start Date : ASAP
- Schedule : Monday-Friday, 35 hours / week
- Setting : Women's Shelter (Single Adult)
- Assignment : 3-month temp-to-perm
Responsibilities :
Oversee all daily operations and compliance for the Women's ShelterSupervise Assistant Program Director, Case Manager Supervisors, and front-line staffDevelop and implement effective systems to streamline communication and delegationManage facility maintenance, security, and inspection readinessPartner with DHS, funders, and internal leadership on audits and reportingEnsure trauma-informed, de-escalation-focused responses to resident crisesUphold high standards for safety, documentation, and program outcomesQualifications :
Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred3+ years of shelter or social service management experienceStrong leadership, organization, and crisis-management skillsExperience working with high-need or MICA populationsBilingual (English / Spanish) preferredDesired Skills :
