Job Description & Requirements
Title : X-Ray Technologist
Location : Memphis, TN
Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : Day shift – 4x10-hour shifts (7 : 00 AM – 5 : 30 PM; schedule may vary based on department needs)
Job Responsibilities :
Perform high-quality diagnostic X-ray examinations according to physician orders and established imaging protocols.
Operate radiographic equipment safely and efficiently to capture accurate images.
Position patients properly to obtain optimal diagnostic results while ensuring comfort and safety.
Review images for quality, accuracy, and proper anatomical presentation before submission to radiologists.
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to infection control and radiation safety standards.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support diagnostic and treatment plans.
Ensure equipment functionality and report maintenance issues promptly.
Accurately document procedures and patient information in the facility’s electronic medical record system (Cerner experience preferred).
Required Skills and Experience :
Minimum 2 years of recent experience as an X-Ray Technologist in a hospital or acute care setting.
Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high imaging quality.
Strong knowledge of radiographic anatomy, positioning, and safety protocols.
Experience in performing various imaging studies including chest, extremities, spine, and fluoroscopic exams.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills with attention to patient care and detail.
Certifications (Required) :
ARRT (R) – Radiologic Technologist Certification (required and strictly enforced).
BLS (Basic Life Support) – through AHA or equivalent.
Preferred Skills :
Cerner EMR experience preferred.
Prior travel experience and experience in a teaching or trauma hospital environment.
Advanced technical skills and ability to adapt to new imaging technologies.
