Press Brake Set Up Operator - 2nd Shift

About the Opportunity :

• Job Title : Press Brake Set Up Operator
• Pay Rate Range : $25.00-$29.00 / Hour
• Location : Bloomington, MN
• Schedule : 2nd Shift Monday-Thursday 3 : 30PM-2AM.
• Position Type : Temp to Hire

Requirements and Qualifications :

1. High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.

2. Press Brake experience desirable for L1, Required for all other levels.

3. Advanced blueprint reading.

4. Advanced sheet metal inspection experience.

5. Working knowledge of controls for Cincinnati Press Brakes (Windows based).

6. Ability to calculate required tonnages and bend allowances.

7. Ability to select proper tooling required to form a part (Acute, Gooseneck, Offset, etc.).

8. Ability to work on a variety of material types and thicknesses.

9. Setup experience specific to level, department, or equipment.

10. Sheet Metal Layout experience (Tangent Correction, Basic Bend Allowance Etc.) Level 2 and up only.

11. Understanding of Material Properties including Flatness, Surface Grades, Types, Gauge etc. Level 2 and up only.

12. CNC experience (preferred, required for L3 and Lead).

13. Lifting & Carrying (Material) Up to 75 pounds independently; up to 100 pounds with assistance.

14. Lifting & Carrying (Tooling) Up to 50 pounds frequently.

15. Standing & Walking Constantly (more than 75% of the time).

16. Bending, Stooping & Kneeling Constantly (more than 75% of the time).

17. Reaching & Handling Constantly (more than 75% of the time).

18. Visual Acuity Constantly (more than 75% of the time).

19. Dexterity & Repetitive Motion Constantly (more than 75% of the time).

Duties and Responsibilities :

Level 1 :

1. Operate Press Brake safely when lead or others have setup and validated quality requirements for a specific part.

2. Consistently maintain a neat and orderly work area.

3. Must frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.

4. Perform EPICOR transactions logging in and out of jobs and recording quantity complete, scrapped.

Level 2 (Includes Level 1 Requirements) :

5. Perform simple setups on Press Brake utilizing part drawings and bend simulations.

a. Set up / Observe ¼ inch rule. If not possible engage Lead or VSM prior to operating.

6. Forklift Certified.

7. Reads and follow Shop Loads.

8. Perform inspections using precision measuring and gauging equipment.

9. Perform and document all Job / Routing / Quality procedures as directed.

10. Perform material handling functions including packaging.

11. Assemble, Load and Maintain Tooling, Fixtures, Jigs, Etc.

12. Perform EPICOR transactions moving material from / to appropriate locations.

Level 3 (Includes Level 1,2, and 3 Requirements) :

13. Suggest ideas to improve job processes and inform VSM of suggestions.

14. Provides adequate feedback to department manager when the job is not running within 15% of standard.

15. Provides adequate feedback to Department Managers / Engineering by using M.E.C.R forms and notes on the routing.

16. Working knowledge of punch and die configurations, tip radius and the effect on part geometry.

17. Must frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.

18. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos; basic math skills, working knowledge of computer systems.

Lead (Includes Level 1,2, and 3 Requirements) :

19. Capable of training for complex and simple setups.

20. Capable of training EPICOR transactions.

21. Capable of training Safety and Quality Requirements.

22. Cincinnati Press Brakes :

a. (PROFORM, AUTOFORM, & MAXFORM – 90-, 135-, & 230-ton models.).
