Join the OrthoNC TeamOrthoNC is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer for a dynamic float position that combines clinic-based care with school and community outreach. This role offers variety, impact, and the opportunity to work across specialty clinics while supporting local athletes through outreach 23 days per week.

- What Youll Do
- Clinical Duties in OrthoNC Clinics
- Perform patient intake including HPI, medical history, vitals, and medication review
- Conduct focused musculoskeletal exams and assist with diagnosis and treatment
- Provide patient education, recovery guidance, and home exercise instruction
- Fit and apply DME, splints, braces, and basic casts; assist with cast removal
- Support minor procedures, wound care, injections, and dressing changes
- Document thoroughly and accurately in the EHR
- Maintain clinic readiness, efficiency, and compliance with OSHA / HIPAA
- School Outreach Responsibilities
- Provide on-site injury evaluation, triage, and return-to-play guidance for student-athletes
- Coordinate care and referrals back to OrthoNC when needed
- Deliver education to athletes, coaches, and parents on injury prevention and wellness
- Represent OrthoNC as a trusted partner in the school and community setting
- Process & Workflow Support
- Identify bottlenecks in real time and collaborate on operational improvements
- Serve as a bridge between patient care, clinical efficiency, and outreach impact

- Required Education & Experience
- Bachelors or Masters degree from a CAATE-accredited Athletic Training program
- BOC Certification required
- NC Athletic Trainer Licensure (or eligible at time of hire)
- CPR / AED for the Healthcare Provider or equivalent
- Previous experience in orthopaedic, urgent care, or sports medicine preferred
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, varied environment
