About The Position

Must-Have :

Must have completed 2-3 travel assignments.

Must have 2-3 years of ER experience.

Description :

The unit has a total of 27 beds.

There are approximately 50 RNs and 25 medics on staff.

During the day shift, staffing includes 1 charge RN, 5 RNs, and 2-3 medics.

Staffing increases by 4-5 RNs at 11 AM and 1-2 RNs at 3 PM.

The night shift has 1 charge RN, 5 RNs, and 2-3 medics.

Patient ratios are typically 4-6 : 1.

The electronic medical record system used is Meditech.

Candidates should have experience in high acuity and fast-paced emergency departments.

Experience with patient ratios of 5 : 1 is preferred.

Common procedures performed on the unit include RSI, sepsis interventions, stroke protocol with tPA administration, central line placement, care of the psych patient, and transfers to other facilities (EMTALA).

The ideal candidate will possess a relaxed, easy-going personality and be friendly, team-oriented, and respectful.

Preferred certifications include TNCC, ENPC, NRP, and NIHF.

There is no on-call requirement for this position.

Weekend shifts are required, necessitating four weekend shifts (either Friday or Saturday for nights; Saturday or Sunday for days) within a four-week scheduling period.
