Key Responsibilities
Field Work
- Perform installation, configuration, and commissioning of commercial AV and digital signage systems (displays, control systems, audio equipment, video conferencing systems, etc.).
- Conduct site visits for system troubleshooting, maintenance, and equipment replacements.
- Work closely with project managers, project engineers, and clients to ensure installations meet design specifications and performance standards.
- Test, calibrate, and verify system functionality after installation or service visits.
- Document all field work, including wiring diagrams, rack layouts, and service reports.
Remote Technical Support
Provide remote support to clients and field technicians for system configuration, troubleshooting, and updates.Respond to service requests via phone, video, and ticketing systems in a timely and professional manner.Diagnose and resolve AV system issues related to control systems, networking, or hardware integration.Assist clients with user training, remote monitoring, and preventative maintenance.Escalate complex issues to engineering or senior technical staff as needed.Serve as a trusted technical contact for clients and internal teams.Coordinate with project management, engineering, and helpdesk teams to deliver seamless service.Maintain organized and accurate service records in company systems.Participate in regular technical meetings and training sessions to stay up to date on new technologies.Qualifications
2–4 years of experience as an AV technician, field engineer, or helpdesk technician in a commercial AV or digital signage environment.Proficiency in AV system installation, including signal flow, rack wiring, and cable management.Experience supporting or configuring AV control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron, Q‑SYS, AMX) and digital signage platforms.Working knowledge of network fundamentals (IP addressing, PoE, VLANs, etc.).Familiarity with remote support tools, ticketing systems (e.g., ConnectWise), and collaboration platforms.Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently in both field and remote settings.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer‑first mindset.Ability to read and interpret AV system drawings and schematics.Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for field work. Most work is in the NY Tristate area but there could be occasional travel.Preferred Skills
CTS or equivalent AV industry certification.Experience with video conferencing solutions (Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Webex, etc.).Knowledge of CMS or content management systems for digital signage.Experience integrating AV systems with IT networks or cloud‑based platforms.This role includes a mix of on‑site work (installations, service visits, testing) and remote technical support from our Englewood, NJ office or a well‑equipped home office. Flexibility in scheduling is required to support clients in multiple time zones.
