Job Details

  • Located in Bangor, ME
  • Beds : 94 Peds – 50 beds; Adults – 44
  • Peds units are made up of all Private Rooms
  • Minimum years of experience required : 1 year of Behavioral Health nursing required
  • Pediatric BH exp preferred
  • Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
  • Patient Types : Free standing acute inpatient facility – contracted ER 5 min away
  • All patients come from an ED and are medically cleared
  • Children and Adolescents receiving inpatient Mental Health services – ages 5 - 18
  • Common diagnoses include : Eating Disorders, Depression, Suicidal Ideation, Anxiety, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Gender Dysphoria
  • Traditional medical and psychiatric care in addition to specialized therapies such as : pet therapy, group sessions, recreation therapy (rock wall), community gardens
  • Patient Ratios : RN : Day – 1 : 5-6; Night – 1 : 13 with resource support (including Nursing support)
  • Psych Techs : Day – 6 Psych Techs; Night – 2 Psych Techs

    • Job Requirements

  • Experience with physical restraints
  • Comfortability to run groups
  • Documentation

    • Schedule Information

  • Weekend rotation : every other; Sat / Sun
  • Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
  • No call
  • OT available
  • Holiday Expectations : expected to work holidays in rotation
  • Approval of time off? up to 7 days; if a full week must

    • Unit Specific Information

  • Floating : Yes – between all pediatric units
  • Orientation : 1st week (Mon-Fri) – will work on Days; Second week (12h shifts as scheduled) - on shift contracted to
