Description :

Travel position for an RN in the NICU.

The unit has 20 beds with an average daily census of 5-8.

There are 18 total staff members with a minimum of 2 staff required when there are no patients.

Day shift staffing typically includes a charge nurse, 3 RNs, 2 CNAs, and 1-3 sitters.

Night shift staffing includes a charge nurse and 2 RNs.

Patient ratios are determined by acuity, ranging from 3 feeder / grower (level 2) to 1 acute (level 4).

Equipment used includes omnibeds, bedside physiologic monitors, and GE vents.

The electronic medical record systems in use are CPN and Meditech.

Typical procedures performed on the unit include assistance with intubation and central line placement, IVs, lab draws, gavage feedings, and phototherapy.

Candidates must have a positive attitude and be team-oriented.
