Job description

System Administrator (BBBH53505) Belmont, Perth, Australia

  • Two-Month CONTRACT
  • On-site working arrangement
  • Daily rate : Open to discuss

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled System Administrator to ensure the smooth running, stability, and security of our IT infrastructure. This role will focus on managing virtual server environments, backup and recovery operations, system monitoring, and day-to-day incident resolution. You will play a critical part in maintaining business continuity and providing reliable support across our technology landscape.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Build, configure, and maintain virtual server infrastructure to meet business requirements.
  • Administer backup and recovery processes using Commvault, ensuring data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Monitor systems performance and availability using tools such as SolarWinds, proactively addressing potential issues.
  • Respond to incidents and service requests, providing effective troubleshooting and resolution within agreed timeframes.
  • Perform regular system maintenance, patching, and updates to safeguard system health and compliance.
  • Collaborate with IT peers to deliver seamless infrastructure support and continuous improvements.
  • Maintain documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures to support operational excellence.

  • Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role supporting enterprise IT infrastructure.
  • Hands-on expertise in managing virtualised server environments (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of backup and recovery solutions , ideally with Commvault.
  • Experience using monitoring and alerting platforms such as SolarWinds
  • Solid troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve incidents efficiently.
  • Understanding of ITIL practices and experience handling daily incidents and service requests.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, VMware, Commvault) will be highly regarded.
