Summary

Redwire Space Missions LLC, has an opportunity for a Contractor - Systems Engineer (willing to consider all levels) located at our facility in San Jose, CA to support AI&T, requirements V&V, and delivery of a spacecraft system with its associated flatsat. In this role you will interface with all functions of engineering as well as project management to aid in coordinating testing efforts for product development and project deliverables. You will provide support to AI&T efforts to develop test setups, run tests, and collect final artifacts for requirement validation.

Responsibilities

  • Identify testing methods, develop test plans, and design GSE for risk mitigation, requirements verification and / or validation, and prototype development and demonstration needs
  • Assist the AI&T team with build out, testbed requirements, operating procedures, and execution of the testbeds
  • Coordinating with the other subsystems leads for integration timeline of corresponding tests, execution of tests in accordance with V&V plan, and capturing of all test artifacts
  • Support development of assembly and test processes for sub-systems and vehicle integration testing
  • Support design / development of test tooling (simulation, models, report / analysis tools, EGSE) for both Software and Hardware testing
  • Recommend and implement improvements to testing processes and methodologies
  • Analyze test results, and provide detailed reports to relevant stakeholders
  • Write technical and operating policies, procedures, and documentation
  • Support testbed operation and training to customer post-delivery of the flatsat

Ideal Experience

  • Bachelors, Masters or Ph.D degree in Systems, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Minimum 6 years of engineering experience in the space industry
  • Experience with space systems engineering life cycle; including an understanding of space vehicle design, architecture development, space vehicle integration and test, and space operations development
  • Experience leading technical teams
  • US citizenship is required with ability to acquire DOD Security Clearance
  • Some limited travel may be required
  • Desired Skills

  • Experience with MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering)
  • Experience with JAMA / DOORS Requirements management tools
  • Experience with Ansys STK (Systems Tool Kit)
  • Experience participating in technical execution for systems development.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project and Visio
  • Possesses a broad background in systems engineering

    Pay Range

    $60.00 - $110.00 / hr.

    Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor / prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.

    For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant's level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee / candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
