Skills & Expectations
- Knowledge of special education rules and regulations
- Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting
- Experience working with children ages 0-3 preferred
- Conduct observations, review data, analyze data, and establish documents for reporting
- Support the social, emotional, and educational environment for all students
- Conduct extensive psychological evaluations and re-evaluations for students suspected of, or having, a disability according to MARSE
- Interpret psychological data with Multi-Disciplinary teams, Individual Education Planning teams, teachers, professionals, and parents
- Display outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
- Independently and accurately implement the requirements of the IDEA & Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education
- Effectively work on a team, facilitate and lead meetings
- Display outstanding evaluation/diagnostic skills particularly in the area of learning, as it relates to 13 eligibility areas
- Grosse Pointe's Early On program provides evaluations and services to children ages 0-3 in Grosse Pointe, Hamtramck, Harper Woods and Highland Park.
- Early On is a year round program. This position follows a year round calendar.
- Service for students and their families are provided in their natural environment- home and community settings.
