Automotive Technician - Mercedes-Benz Entry Level

Job descriptionWork closely with the Diagnostic Technician; report to the Service Manager, Shop Foreman, and Dispatcher. Mount, rotate, balance and change tires. Examine the vehicle to identify necessary repair or maintenance items that may not be included on the repair order, and communicate to Service Advisor. Communicate with the Parts Department to obtain parts. Follow warranty material disposition procedures. Notify Service Advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined on repair order is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed by the time promised. Clearly and accurately document all work performed. Road test vehicles as required, or refer to the inspection technician as appropriate. Only perform work that is authorized by the customer or by the warranty. Inform Service Advisor and Foreman of all work that cannot be finished by the end of the shift. Wheel alignments. Tire changes, rotations, and mounting. Inspect all work as described on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Mercedes Benz factory and Rallye Mercedes standards. Examine and test-drive all vehicles to ensure that the cause of vehicle malfunctions, and recommend / perform repairs are completed. Communicate all discrepancies to the Service Manager, Advisor, or technician. Road test vehicles as required, or refer to the inspection technician as appropriate. A clean & valid New York State Driver’s License Excellent communication skills. Ability to read, and comprehend instructions and information Professional appearance and ability to work well with others NYS inspectors license At least 3 years MB experience Proficient in Netstar, Xentry & WIS Working knowledge of shop equipment including but not limited to wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment Dealer supplied toolbox!
