Basic Function

Kern Community College District is accepting applications for part-time, hourly adjunct instructors. Applications remain active for up to two years, allowing the district to contact qualified applicants immediately as needs arise. The starting hourly rate is $60.00, which may vary based on the assignment and LHE formula. Qualified applicants will be contacted by department supervisors, deans, or division chairs.

Representative Duties

• Provide instruction in a full range of Administration of Justice courses.
• Teach at various campus sites, including day / evening classes, weekends, large classes, distance learning, and using multiple methodologies.
• Participate in student recruitment and transfer articulation activities.
• Maintain current subject matter knowledge and develop / revise curriculum.
• Utilize computer and multimedia technology in instruction.
• Engage in professional activities at departmental, college, district, and discipline levels.

Minimum Qualifications

Additionally, candidates should demonstrate sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and must have degrees from accredited institutions. Foreign degrees require evaluation by a recognized credential evaluation service.
