Job Title : Director, Youth and Family Services Department :

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Workforce Management :

Schedule and assign work to departmental employees, prioritizing tasks to meet service needs efficiently.

  • Verify the accuracy of employee time sheets.
  • Approve and authorize comp time for department staff when necessary, utilizing flexible scheduling to minimize comp time and maintain uninterrupted departmental coverage.
  • Service Delivery Oversight :
  • Oversee the efficient operation of department services.

  • Develop employee schedules to optimize staffing levels and productivity.
  • Provide necessary training to staff for effective job performance.
  • Maintain, expand, or develop services and programs to align with residents' evolving needs.
  • Communication and Reporting :
  • Notify the Executive Director promptly of any circumstances that may negatively impact the township or its service delivery.

  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times.
  • Represent the township, its officers, and administration positively.
  • Time-Off Authorization and Reporting :
  • Authorize time-off requests for management in consultation with the Township Supervisor or Executive Director.

  • Submit monthly department activity reports to the Board for Board Packets.
  • Strategic Planning and Development :
  • Develop service strategies that align with budgetary requirements.

  • Cultivate positive relationships with staff, co-workers, and customers.
  • Establish linkages with community resources and university programs / resources.
  • Identify and pursue grant / funding opportunities.
  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise all Youth and Family Services staff.
  • Chair the Clinical Coordination Team.
  • Coordinate and oversee Program Managers.

    EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of LCSW with three (3) years of administrative experience or an LCPC with a master’s degree in counseling or a related field with five (5) years of administrative experience is required.
