AI Strategic Operations Manager

The AI Strategic Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic and operational aspects of Natera's AI portfolio. This position focuses on providing executive-level insights, prioritizing AI workstreams, tracking portfolio progress, ensuring stakeholder alignment, managing knowledge dissemination, and establishing best practices. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong operational expertise in technical program management in an AI / digital transformation setting, capable of collaborating across functions to accelerate AI adoption and impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Executive-Level Reporting : Develop and deliver ELT-level summaries of all AI activities across Natera, including the latest status updates on Natera's AI portfolio segmented by workstream. This includes synthesizing progress, risks, and outcomes to inform senior leadership decisions.
  • Prioritization Framework Implementation : Collaborate closely with the VP of Strategy and VP of AI to design and implement program prioritization frameworks for various AI workstreams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and resource optimization.
  • Project Management : Develop and maintain timelines, project documentation and stakeholder status reporting taking a holistic view of available resources, dependencies, priorities, risks and other constraints. Work effectively within Natera's regulated environment (FDA design controls, HIPAA, etc.) and using Natera's enterprise tools (Jira, Confluence, GitLab, Jama and Smartsheet).
  • Best Practices Development : Create a comprehensive set of best practices for AI portfolio management work, working in partnership with Natera's Program Management Office (PMO) to integrate and leverage existing tools, processes, and methodologies for enhanced efficiency.
  • Knowledge Management : Responsible for internal knowledge management for all AI-related matters, including the development and facilitation of cross-functional meetings. Establish cadences, agendas, and content to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Life Sciences or another relevant field.
  • 7+ years of experience in operations management, project management, or strategic roles within technology, or healthcare sectors, ideally with focus on AI.
  • Proven track record in AI portfolio management, including prioritization frameworks, resource allocation, and knowledge management.
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies, software architecture principles and best practices; familiarity with biotech or healthcare applications is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience delivering executive-level reports and facilitating cross-functional meetings.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, or similar) and data analysis software.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a focus on strategic execution.
  • Preferred Skills

  • Experience in a biotech or life sciences company, particularly with AI applications in diagnostics or data analytics.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or AI-related fields.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to track metrics, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.
  • The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
