Emergency Operations Support Center Operator
Reporting to the Emergency Operations Group Leader, the Emergency Operations Support Center (EOSC) Operator in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) provides 24 / 7 support for incident management and coordination. In this role, you will receive, gather, and assess information regarding abnormal or unusual events and emergency conditions across the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), as well as monitor the LANL fire alarm system. Additionally, you will coordinate the deployment of LANL emergency response assets, including Emergency Managers, the Hazardous Material Team, and other specialized teams as required.
Minimum Job Requirements :
Education / Experience at Emergency Management / Response Operator 3 Level : The position requires an Associate Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Studies, Public Safety, Communications, or a related field and a minimum of four years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

Work Location : The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position Commitment : Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

The candidate must be willing to work rotating shifts which include swing and graveyard shifts, weekends, and holidays; work some scheduled and non-scheduled overtime, sometimes with little or no notice. The candidate must be willing to work on-call rotations and supplemental on-call assignments, and as a member of the Emergency Operations Group (EM-OPS) be available for an immediate call back with a maximum response time of 60 minutes.
