Tax Professional (Contract - On-Site | Fort Collins, CO)

A growing financial services firm in Fort Collins is seeking an experienced Tax Professional to support a surge in client volume during the upcoming tax season. This is a contract role with strong potential for ongoing project work.

Position Overview :

The Tax Professional will be responsible for preparing and reviewing federal and state tax returns for individuals and small businesses. The ideal candidate is highly experienced, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal ramp-up time. The environment is client-focused, relationship-driven, and values accuracy, reliability, and clear communication.

Responsibilities :

Prepare and review individual and small business federal and state tax returns

Analyze and verify client financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Communicate with clients to gather missing documents and clarify information.

Provide light accounting or financial analysis support as needed.

Work on-site and integrate quickly into the team's established workflow.

Requirements :

Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on tax preparation experience.

Strong understanding of both individual and small business tax structures.

Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with Drake Tax Software required.

Advanced Excel skills.

CPA or EA certification is a plus, but not required.

Schedule & Work Environment :

30-40 hours per week.

On-site role with limited hybrid flexibility after initial onboarding.

Business casual environment; professional attire required when interacting with clients.

No overtime expected.

Compensation :

Salary Range : $75,000-$100,000 depending on experience and credentials.
