Financial Analyst

The State of Michigan is looking for an Financial Analyst for the Civil Service Commission within the Miliary Affairs Central office. This position will be assisting with the analysis of Master Cooperative Agreement (MCA) program expenditures by running queries, reviewing results and analyzing expenditure details. Will complete a thorough review and analysis of expenditure data, assist with the preparation of correcting entries for expenditures and / or revenue that have been coded incorrectly in the states' accounting system.

Financial Analyst

• Research and reconcile MCA expenditures on a monthly basis.

• ssist with review and reconciliation of expenditure transactions and other programmatic data at it relates to State Operations monitoring of the Master Cooperative Agreement.
• ssist the accounting specialist with the preparation of monthly expenditure reports.
• Will complete a thorough review and analysis of expenditure data, assist with the preparation of correcting entries for expenditures and / or revenue that have been coded incorrectly in the states' accounting system.
• Must be dependable and have excellent attendance.

Education :

This position requires a bachelor's degree in any major with at least 24 semester credits in one or a combination of the following : accounting, finance, or economics or one - two years of professional experience providing a systematic review, analysis, interpretation, and / or evaluation of budgets, mortgages, loans or other financial data.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Candidate should possess strong analytical and math skills, good writing skills, and good verbal communication skills and good organizational capabilities.
