About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Vice President, Chief Development Officer (CDO) to play a pivotal role in advancing its mission. The CDO will be responsible for leading the Foundation's efforts to engage and educate donors about its programs and priorities. This includes conceptualizing and implementing a comprehensive development program to support the organization's strategy and ensure its sustainability. The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO, CFO, leadership team, and Board of Directors, and will oversee a large Development team. A key focus for the CDO will be to plan and execute a significant endowment campaign to support the Foundation's long-term goals.
The ideal candidate for the CDO position at the company will have a deep, authentic connection to its mission and at least 20 years' of experience in nonprofit fundraising. This experience should encompass all aspects of a successful fundraising operation, with a strong emphasis on major gifts. The CDO will be expected to lead a diverse team, maintain best practices, and ensure the growth and development of the team. A successful track record in major gift solicitation and a forward-thinking approach to donor engagement are essential. The role also requires the ability to analyze data for decision-making and a willingness to travel as needed. A graduate degree is preferred, and a Bachelor's degree is required.
