Job Title : Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of mechanical devices within our manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for conducting preventive maintenance, diagnosing and repairing machine parts, and ensuring that all equipment is functioning efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance on mechanical devices.
• Detect malfunctions through observation, whether by sound or visual cues.
• Run diagnostic tests to ensure system functionality.
• Repair broken or faulty machine parts.
• Perform emergency repairs when necessary.
• Choose appropriate materials based on mechanical needs.
• Align and calibrate machine parts for optimal performance.
• Follow safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe workplace.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Work with electrical systems of 480v or higher, and 3-phase motors.
• Handle conveyor systems, particularly those in food manufacturing equipment.

Work Environment

The position is based in a cereal manufacturing plant where adherence to GMPs is essential. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7 am to 4 pm. The role requires understanding of safety protocols and regulations specific to food manufacturing environments.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oakland, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00 / hr.
