Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is ideal for professionals licensed as Teachers for the Visually Impaired (TVI) and Orientation and Mobility Specialists (OMS) looking to support K-12 students in an engaging educational environment. This position is based in Everett, WA, serving a diverse student population with visual impairments.

Responsibilities include providing specialized instruction and mobility training tailored to the needs of visually impaired students. The ideal candidate will ensure students develop essential skills for independence and academic success. Instruction is delivered in person, maintaining direct engagement with K-12 students.

Key details :

  • Provide TVI services 3 days per week and OMS services 2 days per week
  • Position is for the full school year (NSY), offered as a contract role
  • Preference given to candidates holding both Washington state licensures in TVI and OMS; however, two part-time candidates meeting one licensure each will also be considered
  • Must provide in-person services exclusively, supporting personalized learning experiences

Qualifications :

  • Valid Washington state licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) and / or Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS)
  • Strong understanding of strategies for teaching visually impaired K-12 students
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff and families
