Job descriptionCertification (Post-Acute Care) : Must hold New York State Certification as a Dietitian-Nutritionist (issued by NYSED). Certification (Acute Care) : Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) with active registration from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics or Foods & Nutrition from an accredited college / university. Women’s health and nutrition, including diabetes experience preferred CDCES certificate would be preferred Minimal one year of experience required. Two years of experience preferred
Job Title : Registered Dietitian
Location : Bronx, NY 10461
Shift : 9 : 00 AM-5 : 00 PM (Mon – Fri)
Contract duration : 3 months with a strong possibility of extension
Pay rate : $52 / Hr
Job Description :
- Screens and assesses patients accurately and promptly based on levels of care.
- Determines patients’ nutritional needs and status, providing follow-up care as required.
- Conducts interviews with patients and / or families to gather food habits and preferences.
- Monitors patients for potential food / drug interactions and provides related education.
- Records food and drug interactions in the education section.
- Interprets relevant laboratory, physical, and social data from medical records for nutrition care planning.
- Provides nutrition education to patients, documenting diet instructions and patient understanding in the education section.
- Consults with physicians regarding appropriate diet modifications.
