Position Summary
The Chief Financial Officer has overall responsibility for corporate accounting, financial reporting, financial planning and forecasting, treasury, tax, compliance, SEC reporting, risk management, and investor relations. This position requires a strategic and visionary leader who can provide informed and objective counsel to top management and offer technical and experience-based advice to peers and subordinates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for monthly closing activities.
Responsible for cash management including bank reconciliation.
Coordinate the filing of all tax documents.
Oversee design and operation of overall control policies and procedures within the organization.
Oversee design and maintenance of property management database (controls over data integrity).
Oversee and direct accounting division.
Oversee direct audit, accounting, site administration and long-range forecasting for the organization.
Oversee treasury, budgeting, tax purchasing, real estate, and insurance activities for the organization.
Act as final reviewer of all income statements, balance sheets, tax returns; including sales tax and reports for government regulatory agencies.
Manage accounting systems.
Establish consistent processes and procedures throughout the organization.
Analyze, consolidate, and direct all cost accounting procedures with other statistical and routine reports.
Manage a staff of direct reports, including the Controller, AP / Payroll Clerk and Grants Accountant.
Administer all aspects of payroll and benefits components.
Analyze operational issues impacting functional groups and the whole institution and determine their financial impact.
Evaluate and recommend business partnering opportunities.
Assist the CEO with investor relations, capital markets and stock-related activities.
Prepare and / or review all contracts.
Establish and maintain consistent and logical pricing across all customer segments.
Required Skills And Abilities
Knowledge of Management and Accounting Information Systems and public accounting.
Experience with benefits administration and human resource issues.
Strong general operations background.
Knowledge of public company and SEC reporting.
Competencies

Analytical skills; ability to analyze key financial data and assess impact quickly and accurately.

Education / Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting with CPA or MBA preferred.
Minimum 5 years in a Senior Financial position or related experience.

Working Conditions
