Job Description

Part Time. AM and PM Split Shift

Year Round work following Elmira and Horseheads School schedules including Summer School.

Benefitsmayvarydependingonlocation and CBA policy.

Policy. Key Responsibilities :

Knows the route and remains alert to monitor the welfare of passengers while in route

Communicates behavior problems and conditions of various stops with the driver

Assists in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus

Assists students in the loading and unloading process

Cooperates and communicates with school personnel, students, and parents

Attends all safety and training meetings

Conducts emergency evacuation from the bus, including use of exiting by emergency door

Opens and closes service doors and moves up and down steps multiple times daily

Cleans the insides of the bus including sweeping, dusting and cleaning windows. Cleans outside

windows of the bus.

Assists driver when necessary to safely direct the vehicle backwards

Other specialized functions as required by contract.

Qualifications : 21 yearsor older

Excellentcommunication &customerserviceskills.

Mustbe able toworkshifts orflexible workschedulesasneeded.

Workoutsideinvaryingtemperature,weather,andhumidityconditions-100%ofthejobisperformed outside, work alone and in remote locations.

Pushandpullobjectsupto25pounds,occasionallythroughouttheworkday;liftmaterialweighingupto 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level

Withstandheavytrafficareaswhileperformingthedutiesofthejob;tolerateexposuretoconsiderable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
