Job descriptionJuris Doctor from an accredited law school. Active membership in the State Bar of California. 2–5 years of litigation experience in a law firm environment. Demonstrated experience in business, corporate, or commercial litigation. Strong legal writing and research skills. Courtroom experience preferred, including motion practice and oral advocacy. Prior involvement with moot court, law review, or judicial clerkships is a plus. Ability to work independently and as part of a litigation team. Competitive base salary ranging from $145,000 to $210,000, depending on experience. Discretionary performance-based bonus opportunities. Business Litigation Associate Attorney
Location : Carlsbad, CA or San Diego, CA
Job Type : Full-Time
Experience Level : 2–5 Years
Salary Range : $145,000 – $210,000 DOE + Bonus Potential
Position Overview
An established civil litigation firm seeks a Business Litigation Associate with 2–5 years of experience handling complex commercial and corporate disputes. This position offers significant client interaction, exposure to high-level litigation, and potential for long-term professional development.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage case files from inception through resolution in both state and federal court.
- Draft and respond to written discovery, pleadings, motions, and settlement documents.
- Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
- Attend court appearances, including motion hearings and status conferences.
- Support senior attorneys in trial preparation and strategy development.
- Analyze legal and factual issues, assess risk, and advise clients on litigation strategy.
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding case progress and deliverables.
