Safety Director (Baltimore)

Chesapeake Search Partners is partnering with a general contractor in the Baltimore region seeking a Safety Director to lead their company-wide safety program and culture. Reporting to the COO, this role serves as the senior authority on safetysetting strategy, ensuring compliance, and driving accountability across all projects.

This position blends strategic leadership with hands-on field oversight : developing and implementing best-in-class safety programs while managing training, inspections, audits, certifications, and risk mitigation. The Safety Director also oversees third-party safety professionals when engaged, ensuring all efforts align with company standards and culture.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead the companys safety vision, culture, and accountability across all projects
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, local, and client safety requirements
• Oversee training programs, certifications, inspections, audits, and incident investigations
• Track and maintain required safety logs and reports (OSHA, client, internal)
• Partner with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Subcontractors to proactively identify and resolve safety issues on-site.
• Provide oversight of third-party safety professionals when engaged
