PRIMARY PURPOSE

Processes linen for Parkland and other customers in a timely, sanitary and safe manner.

Skills or Special Abilities :

• Must be able to read, write and follow instructions.
• Must be able to demonstrate manual dexterity, accurately count linen and maintain applicable records.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and other hospital staff.

Responsibilities

• Manually sorts and folds clean linen, i.e. washcloths, scrubs and other items, according to departmental standards.
• Sorts, presses, and folds clean linen using automated laundry equipment, to meet the needs of customers and productivity requirements of Linen Services.
• Separates soiled linen according to classification and departmental standards to prepare linen for effective processing.
• Completes production logs and other assigned paperwork correctly and legibly.
• Stays alert to ensure proper equipment use and to identify and report any equipment malfunctions. Operates all laundry equipment in a manner to ensure safety and minimize equipment malfunctions. Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
• Provides backup to other positions in the Linen Services department to ensure continuous workflow and maintain adequate production levels.
