Finance Manager (FM) (40 hours, Full-time) Exempt

BUILD is looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial professional to join our team as the very first Finance Manager in our 56-year history! The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing budgets, analyzing financial data, developing forecasts, and providing insights that drive business decisions. The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical and technical skills, strong business acumen, and the ability to think strategically. This position requires excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, and the flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment. You’ll work closely with the CFO and C-levels with the opportunity to make your mark with an established and respected non-profit leader providing vital services to Chicago’s rising west side. This position will report to the CFO and supervises one direct report (FP&A Analyst).

Key Job Responsibilities :

• Lead and manage the annual agency budgeting process.
• Develop financial plans, and forecasts for the organization.
• Monitor and analyze budgets and forecasts to identify potential problems and opportunities
• Prepare and present financial reports to CFO, senior leadership and Board of Directors.
• Establish & maintain regular reporting to internal stakeholders, e.g. : program- and grant-specific performance reports for managers and directors.
• Analyze financial trends and data to make recommendations maximize grant funds utilization.
• Monitor and analyze financial data to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Analyze financial data to support decision-making regarding potential investments.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Manage and review financial statements, budgets, and other reports.
• Provide financial modeling and analysis for strategic planning and forecasting.
• Identify risks and opportunities in the financial data.
