Sandblaster

C.H. Thompson is currently seeking a Sandblaster to join our team. As a Sandblaster you will play a crucial role in maintaining quality, safety, and productivity through a hands-on approach. Specifically, the role focuses on cleaning, smoothing, and preparing surfaces in preparation for subsequent processes such as anodize, paint or powder coat. Position Overview

• Sandblasting :

Remove dirt, paint, grease, rust, and other materials from surfaces using sandblasting equipment.

Autobody :

Perform autobody work, such as filling, sanding, and priming surfaces.

Efficiency and Productivity :

Prioritizing items based on production schedules and deadlines.

Quality Control :

Inspect parts before and after the finishing process to ensure they meet quality standards and reporting any defects or non-conformances to supervisors.

Job Monitoring :

Utilize computer system to track job progress and scan in and out of jobs.

Collaboration :

Team Communication : Coordinate with painters, line operators, or other production team members to ensure smooth workflow during subsequent processes.

Safety and Compliance :

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) : Wear appropriate PPE (gloves, safety glasses) as required for each task to protect against hazards.

Work Area Safety : Maintain a safe work environment, especially when handling chemicals or using cutting tools.

Qualifications :

Education :

High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred.

Experience :

Relevant experience in sandblasting is preferred.

Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and autobody work.

Skills & Competencies :

Attention to Detail : Keen eye for detail and accuracy.

Communication : Clear communication is essential for reporting findings and collaborating with production teams.

Problem-Solving : Ability to identify issues and recommend solutions.

Technical Skills : Basic math and computer skills, ability to use specialized testing tools and machinery.

Physical Requirements : Ability to stand for extended periods, as well as lift up to 50lbs, bend, push, pull, reach and twist for 8-10 hours a day.

Quality Standards : Ensure all products and parts meet stringent quality standards.

Shift Hours :

Monday - Thursday 6 : 30am-3 : 30pm, Friday 6 : 30am-12 : 30pm

Total Compensation Package :

Wage

$17.50+ per hour.

Compensation depends on the selected candidate's experience.
