Responsibilities Work in a 15-bed Emergency Room with a 6-bed fast track area in an acute care setting Trauma Level III facility with approximately 100 patient visits per day and 500-600 pediatric patients per month Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4, subject to patient acuity Uses Cerner (First Net) for electronic charting Shift schedule consists of 12-hour mids with varied start times between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., including every other weekend No floating required Common patient types include stroke, abdominal pain, orthopedic injuries, and psychiatric cases Central monitor tech in ICU monitors ER cardiac strips using Phillips telemetry equipment Ventilators used in the unit Charge RN may take a small patient load if needed Support staff includes nurse aides, a 24 / 7 unit secretary, and a tech working 20 hours per day Must pass a Relias Dysrhythmia exam before an offer is confirmed if working in the Sacramento, CA region or Arizona Sterile technique competency test for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing change during orientation 2-3 days of unit-specific orientation provided Holiday shifts are assigned as part of permanent staff rotation Navy scrubs required Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy services available 24 / 7 Returning candidates must not have been employed by any facility affiliated with the health system (including CHI / Dignity) within the last year Requirements Active RN license (State or Compact); pending licenses not accepted Minimum of 2 years of recent ER nursing experience; 3-5 years in specialty preferred Current certifications required : BLS, ACLS, PALS, COVID vaccination Level III trauma ER experience preferred Two professional references required : one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years Must provide a copy of a valid driver’s license for consideration Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-599094.
