American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position specializing in oncology care with night shift and Ohio or compact RN license requirements.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Med / Surg Tele unit focused on oncology patientsCare for adult and geriatric patients with various cancer diagnoses including endometrial, bladder, renal, ovarian, and cervical cancersProvide treatments including chemotherapy, participation in clinical trials, brachytherapy, and continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)Staffing ratios typically 1 : 4, may be adjusted to 1 : 5 based on unit needsNight shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19 : 00–07 : 30), with variable weekends as neededNo set or blocked scheduling; self-scheduling requests are accommodated based on unit needsUses EPIC for computerized charting; proficiency requiredFirst week of orientation is Monday to Friday dayshifts, followed by 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptorDuties include administering chemotherapy, monitoring for adverse reactions, and participating in clinical trialsPerform specialized procedures such as brachytherapy, neobladder care, feeding tube care, IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line maintenanceMust follow infection prevention protocols and patient fall management strategiesCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams and utilize rapid response teams as neededFingerprinting for Ohio required promptly after contract signing; candidates must comply with all credentialing deadlinesFormer employees must have a 6-month gap before reapplying for a travel assignmentCurrent employees of OSU hospitals are not eligible for traveler positionsLocals accepted at the same rateRTO (requested time off) must be declared prior to contract\n \n Requirements\n
Active OH or compact RN license required at time of considerationMinimum 2 years of Med / Surg Tele nursing experience requiredCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification requiredExperience in oncology nursing, including chemotherapy administration and brachytherapyAbility to monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond appropriatelyEducation must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited programPreferred certification in Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) ChemotherapyTwo professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership position\n Benefits\n
