Allied OneSource is seeking skilled and experienced Custom TIG Welders for placement with one of our valued manufacturing clients. This role is ideal for professionals with strong TIG welding expertise who can handle both production and custom fabrication projects while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Position Overview
The Custom TIG Welder is responsible for performing welding operations on a variety of materials and assemblies, including stainless steel and aluminum. The role requires precision, strong technical knowledge, and flexibility to work across production tasks, specialized assemblies, and custom fabrication projects as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Select welding procedures and techniques best suited to the type of work and materials involved.
- Adjust welding equipment, including torch, wire feed motor, and power supply, to ensure proper penetration, fusion, and alignment.
- Read and interpret fabrication prints, production orders, bills of material, and process sheets .
- Review all parts and assemblies for accuracy prior to welding.
- Fit-up jobs in welding fixtures and jigs, ensuring proper alignment and adherence to dimensional specifications.
- Weld or tack parts into sub-assemblies or complete assemblies according to work instructions.
- Support custom welding projects requiring specialized techniques and attention to detail.
- Assist in training or mentoring other welders when applicable.
- Perform quality checks and maintain welding documentation as required.
- Flexibly support assignments across production and custom fabrication tasks as needed.
Qualifications
2–3 years of TIG welding experience, particularly with stainless steel and aluminum .Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and blueprints .Solid understanding of welding technology, equipment, material characteristics, and basic metallurgy.Knowledge and skill in TIG welding and basic fabrication techniques.Ability to weld a variety of materials in all positions with precision and quality.Flexibility in work hours, including first shift and potential overtime .Willingness to support assignments in different areas as required.Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to workplace safety.Education & Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.2–3 years of welding experience, including stainless steel and aluminum fabrication.Experience in both production-style and custom welding projects is a plus.Work Environment
Fabrication and production facility environment.Exposure to welding fumes, sparks, moderate noise, and machinery.Standing, bending, lifting, and working with precision hand tools and welding equipment required.Must adhere to all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.Schedule & Pay
