Position Summary :

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Estimator with experience in commercial HVAC systems to join our team. This individual will be responsible for developing accurate and competitive estimates for a variety of mechanical construction projects. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed HVAC estimates.
  • Perform quantity take-offs for ductwork, piping, equipment.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes.
  • Prepare and present bid proposals in coordination with leadership.
  • Conduct job walks and attend pre-bid meetings as needed.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field staff to ensure accurate cost forecasting.
  • Assist in value engineering and scope development during design / build and negotiated projects.
  • Identify risk factors, material constraints, and constructability issues within the scope of HVAC.
  • Support change order pricing and estimating for ongoing projects.

Qualifications :

  • 3+ years of experience in HVAC / mechanical estimating (commercial construction preferred)
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems including ductwork, Refrigerant piping, and controls
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and PDF markup tools
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Experience with design-build and plan-spec projects is a plus
