JOB SUMMARY :
The Enterprise Architect is responsible for developing and maintaining the organization's IT architecture framework to ensure alignment with business goals and strategic objectives. This role serves as a bridge between business and technology, guiding the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and sustainable systems across Bay State Milling. The Enterprise Architect collaborates with stakeholders across departments to assess current capabilities, identify gaps, and define future-state architectures that support company goals, operational efficiency, and digital transformation.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develops and enforces enterprise architecture standards, data architecture standards, EA and data governance frameworks, and system integration standards tailored to Bay State Milling's technology stack and regulatory environment.
- Establish architecture principles, standards, and governance models to guide technology decisions across IT and OT domains.
- Design and oversee integration of mill automation systems (e.g., PLCs, SCADA, MES) with enterprise platforms.
- Ensure secure and reliable data flow between plant floor systems and business applications to support traceability, quality, and performance analytics.
- Collaborate with business leaders to align ERP capabilities (e.g., inventory, production planning, financials) with operational workflows and strategic objectives.
- Support Technology leadership in the development of a multi-year technology roadmap that supports business growth, sustainability, and digital maturity.
- Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure architecture supports robust protection of technology assets and enterprise data.
- Maintains modeling and naming standards, enforces data normalization, manages metadata, and documents source-to-target data mapping using industry-standard tools compliant with food industry regulations.
- Maintain architectural documentation including system maps, data flows, and integration patterns.
- Promote standardization and reuse of architectural components across sites and business units.
- Conduct business reviews, technical assessments, and evaluate current and potential applications to ensure compatibility with Bay State Milling's production and quality requirements.
- Designs develop, and maintain the integration technology stack, including commercial platforms essential in areas such as milling operations, supply chain management, inventory, and compliance tracking.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & WORK REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field preferred.Enterprise Architecture certification in TOGAF, Zachman, or similar required.Proven experience with cloud architecture and technologies including the Microsoft ecosystem.Strong understanding of cybersecurity, information security, and project management principles and methodologies.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
