Position Summary :
As a Registered Nurse in the NICU, you will deliver high-quality patient care using the nursing process. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, patients, and families while effectively communicating changes in patient conditions and treatment responses. You will utilize your knowledge of growth and development to provide age-appropriate care.
Qualifications :
Graduate of an accredited nursing programCurrent RN license in ConnecticutCertification in BLS and NRP upon hire or within one yearExperience : Previous NICU experience is preferred.
Responsibilities :
Conduct comprehensive assessments and reassessments of maternal and newborn conditions including psychosocial and physical care needs.Manage patient pain effectively and educate families on pain management techniques.Develop and adapt individualized care plans based on assessments and patient feedback.Ensure safe medication administration following five rights protocols.Provide care within Level II NICU, Well Newborn, and Postpartum contexts.Document nursing processes and patient responses accurately and promptly.Utilize critical thinking to prioritize tasks and delegate as necessary.Design and evaluate educational plans for patients and families based on learning needs.Model professional practice and serve as a mentor.Assess and monitor the hemodynamic status of neonates and communicate vital information to providers.Provide appropriate developmental care to sick and premature newborns.Your expertise and compassionate care can impact lives positively.
