Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift : 7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM

Experience :

• 24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• Must have at least 12 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.
• Travel experience is preferred from any number of months.
• Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.

Additional Details :

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Previous Employment Requirements : Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more. Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location.

Required Skills / Experience : Skills : IV STARTS, TELE, Tracheostomy Management, Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response Interpretation of dysrhythmias Management of dysrhythmias Work Settings MS / Tele Respiratory Tracheostomy care / management Screen missing requirements.

Preferred Skills / Experience : Oncology experience. Skills : Administration of Chemotherapy, Nocturnal CPAP / BiP.

Required Credentials : Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Procedures / Diagnostics / Treatments Performed on Unit : Head and Neck cancers Neuro-oncology Brain tumors. Tracheostomy care including suctioning, general trach care and changing the inner cannula - Required, Drain management - JP, Hemovacs - Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls.

Types of Patients on Unit : PCU and MS patients. Adults, Geriatrics.

Equipment Used on Unit : B450 monitors GE telemetry system, Bladder Scanner, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds.

Unit / Facility Details : Number of Beds : 36.

Special Requests : Self-schedule requests - you will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final schedule. RTO required with submission, must be built into contract.

Shift & Scheduling : D / N rotating shift option available. 13-16 week contract.

Floating Requirements : Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.

14 days maximum time off. Start assignment restriction : 7 days
