Position Overview :

Sun Harbor, a 120-bed skilled nursing facility in Port Charlotte, FL, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Dietitian to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will provide medical nutrition therapy and create personalized nutritional programs to support residents’ health and well-being. You will play an essential part in improving quality of life through proper nutrition and education.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans based on medical needs.

Coordinate food service activities with other departments such as Nursing, Environmental Services, Activities, and Social Services.

Participate in planning the dietary component of resident discharge plans.

Maintain up-to-date menus and ensure compliance with industry standards and facility policies.

Provide ongoing nutrition education and counseling to residents and their families.

Ensure accurate and informative charting of dietary services and resident progress.

Assist in state and federal surveys and implement action plans for identified deficiencies.

Maintain dietary manuals, FDA food code regulations, and other reference materials to support quality services.

Plan both regular and therapeutic diets as prescribed by physicians.

Collaborate with facility staff to promote resident satisfaction and nutritional outcomes.

Qualifications :

Registered Dietitian (RD) credential required.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred.

Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition and medical nutrition therapy .

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
