Construction Estimator

Our client, a full-service restoration and reconstruction company in Houston TX, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase by providing accurate cost estimates for various construction projects.

• Must have at least 1 year of Construction Estimating experience to be considered

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and overhead.

Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.

Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best prices.

Utilize software tools such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam for efficient estimation processes.

Collaborate with project management teams to assess project requirements and timelines.

Conduct site visits to gather necessary information for accurate pricing.

Monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.

Provide support during the bidding process by preparing bid proposals and presenting estimates.

Requirements

Xactimate experience required. - Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role in the construction industry.

Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.

Proficiency in estimation software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.

Excellent negotiation skills with a focus on contract management.

Ability to analyze complex data and provide clear recommendations based on findings.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in pricing and documentation.

Familiarity with cost control measures and budgeting processes in construction projects.

Effective communication skills to liaise with clients, contractors, and team members.
