Primary Function

A licensed vocational nurse/licensed practical nurse (LVN/LPN) provides medical services at the scope and level of a Licensed Vocational Nurse to preserve the health of employees and client personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Recognizes and treats illnesses and injuries according toestablishedoperating instructions within the scope of licensure and regulations of state employment or practice.
• Performs duties in a safe manner and follows the corporate safety policy.
• Records andmaintainspatient informationin accordance withstandard protocols, and the Privacy Act.
• Responds to a variety of inquiries of varying complexity by using knowledge and an understanding of established policies, procedures, and practices for safeguarding information (HIPAA, PHI, PII), includingmaintainingconfidentiality of all company proprietary information.
• Maintains professionalism, ethical standards, discretion, candor, privacy and confidentiality of all company proprietary information, meetings, communication, and documents, including implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization.
• Performs duties in a safe manner and follows the corporate safety policy.
• Performs other duties as assignedin accordance withcontract requirements.

Job Requirements

• Graduated from an accredited Nursing school.
• Active and unrestricted license or compact state license and the ability to be favorably credentialed.
• 2 years of experience as a License Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
• BLS or CPRcertification.
• Proficiency with computer and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain necessary clearances and credentials required for access to detention facilities.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, resided in the U.S. for 3 years in the past 5 years.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized, and have excellent verbal and communication skills.
• Must be able to perform duties in a stressful and high paced environment without physical limitations.
• Ability to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements to include potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual (English/Spanish or other relevant languages) preferred
• Has undergone a federal investigation at the level of Tier 2 or higher; has been granted favorable suitability/eligibility and has not had a break in service for more than 24 months.
• Detention center experience.

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions

• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
• Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to ascend/descend stairs.
• Visual acuity required to complete paperwork and computer work.
• Work is performed in a secure detention facility.
• May require evening, weekend, or on-call hours.
• Exposure to emotionally challenging situations.
